i was wondering if a 5 inch silver arowana for 15 bucks is a good deal?

i saw it at my local lfs and i want to buy it...:nilly:

is it worth it?

it has little torn on the fin...but that will heal up in like a week.

i just want to know if thats a good deal.

and how long does it take for silvers to grow at least 3 ft?

i was hoping...in like the 10 years or 12 years range for them to grow that big?
 
yea buy it that's great!

I think it grows to about 18-24 inches pretty quick, but after that it slows down. Don't quote me, but it may take 2-3 years.

Definetly a desent price. Is this a quality fish store? Does this pricing go along with the rest of there prices or are they trying to move quickly for a reason?

Mine grew from 3.5" to 15" in 13 months, there is another member here on Mfk, hers grew from 6" to 16" in 5 months, Growth rates can vary but either way you need be prepared to house an 18 -20" within a year. From what I understand their growth then slows down.

about 8 inches i think...

and im soon to be getting a 150 gal tank.

do you guys think that they would not fight?

would the tank last them for a while?

none of my local fish stores dont carry more than 150 gals.

and its really hard to find a 220 gal.

nothing against you,its just said so much and i know how it goes first hand.
you plan on it,get the cash,then ya got bills to pay and the tank dreams go away.
or some sob story. :grinno:

oh and your in ca,go to the buy and sell section,seems all the big tanks are in ca grrr :)
 
im only 15 years old.

and i have money saved and ive been with fishes all my life haha.

well...since i was 5.

within a week i'll get the tank.

but is it ok for the ck and the arowana to be together?
