HELP My Rays!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would be going to the store and getting a full water filtration unit to use for the time being or I would be going to the store and buying lots of water. Do you have family in an area unaffected? Go fill up as much as you can and think about a good sized water change. It has to be the water and something is off with the source. Find clean water. If you had a full ro unit I would say even do partial of that. The store sells water also that has been filtered. You need to get some good water period.

That redness is fresh as of today. I picked up 80 gallons of water from a nearby town. Looks like two rays are down... as well as my hopes. If I loose either breeder, I'm out.

Really sorry to read this, hopefully it's not too late & they will bounce back.

IF you're up for a road trip I have an RO unit you can use till things shape up. I'm 2 hours north..... Should be good for 150 gallons a day. I have a Rubbermaid 150 you could take too, the RO is set up for a float valve/auto shut off.......

As hard as our water is it shouldn't take much tap at all mixed with the RO to bring PH up enough to be stable. A few whole house water filters with carbon blocks should clean up the tap enough to dilute with RO for around $50. IF money is an issue just use the RO minus the membrane for tap to mix with the RO......

I can probably send enough bio with you to give a good kick start too.....

This happened in under 40 minutes to pup #2. I am chilling some water for her now

Thanks Allan but I think its too late. Our water is running clear now that I ran it for hours. I went up to city hall and they say they haven't treated the water recently, sounds like a load of bs but it tests fine. I did a 15-20% wc change today with water from a different municipality. It should be fine till mine is good again. The confusing part is that I have many other sensitive fish in the same water. Clown loaches, p afer, multipunctatus, african shovelnose, flowerhorns and much more. They are ALL fuggin fine.
Just bought this huge leo/royal marble too.... Fml.

I have terrible luck keeping pups on parent systems. They don't seem to handle the day to day fluctuations like the adults do.....

I'm sorry man... If there's anything I can do, don't hesitate. Seriously tanks to filters I have extras just sitting in the garage.
