  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah that was my first aro R.I.P. swimbladder infection:(

Diet plays a major role in their coloration.

honestly I would go with a silver if it is your first.. They are about the easiest aro to keep.. there are alot of things to learn about when keeping these guys.. and silvers can be very beautiful fish

geeez whatta ya feed that aro? I thought mine had good red in it but yours blows mine away....

I feed mine gut loaded crickets, hikari krill & hikari food sticks.

i was very nervous about gettin a black arow for my first arowana since they are so expensive but everything has been fine and i love the color more than the silvers(i havnt seen that many silvers tho) i would of prob got a silver tho if my tank was bigger. as for color it all depends on the arow, diet, and surroundings if you got a really bright set up your arow isnt gonna be really dark vis versua(sp).

like in dogfreaks photo my black has orange around the edges of his fins and in the middle but his scale color is always changing when he turns and in the lighting that is a great looking silver

if its gonna be your first, i would suggest a silver or a black, if you can afford a big tank. jardinis and leichardti aros are great too but quite feisty. silvers tend to have some colorations when young but they grow it out to a shiny silver armor very soon
