HELP! POLYS SICK!!??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I swear on my life, ammonia is yellow (with the slightest hint of green but not then next color), nitrites light blue and nitrates yellow (with slight hint of orange but also not next color). My temp was at 80 when this started and has been at 82 since. Are u being a d*** or trying to help? have u even read the whole thread?

pretty sure the fungus is fungus and i already lost 2 ropefish, no one here is giving suggestions so am i suppose to "find out what it is" magically and watch my fish die?

I added salt to 125 and did water changes for 3 days. and the levels are settled now. Just added a bit more salt today. The 125 situation is probabbly do to a spike in nitrites and nitrates a week back.

Im asking for help not criticism.

Any tankmates?

Can you get proper readings of your tank water?

tankmates in 40 breeder are: ornate, delzi, retropin, 3 senegals, 1 albino, tiretrack eel, fire eel, zig zag eel, striped raphael. (all eels about 5-6")

125: marble achara cat, endli, palmas, lap, albino senegal, senegal, ornate, weeksii, silver aro, florida gar, 12" fire eel, bumblebee cat. and teh clown which i moved because he looked the worst. Endli, lap and palmas have cloudy eyes. marble achara has a white "scuff" loking mat over its gills. been busy with finals but i will take and post pics tomorrow

I don't understand which tank you're having issues in since you posted both. But unless you have a planted tank your nitrites should not be 0. Also your 5+ nitrates are deadly. How long have your tanks been running? Should do a 50% water change to get those nitrates down asap

I have about 6 LARGE moss balls in 125 in which im having a cloudy eye issue and a clown knife which seemed to be looking as if it had a white film on its coat.

The 40 breeder has many floating plants that look like large duckweed.

My ammo nitrates and nitites in the 40 are always 0 or slightly darker but never even the next color on the scale.

The 125 i just tested tonight and ammo is 0 and nitrates an nitrites are also 0 with a slight shift to the next color but not quite there.

40 breeder has been up for almost 6 months minimum and 125 was moved from a 40 breeder that was setup for almost 8 months and i squeezed the spunges into the new filter when i started it and added all the old water to the 125.
I have no reason to lie. I want help

I also stated in my first post that my gallon of conditioner may have been expired when i purchased it (last 2 digits of date was scratched off). May this be causing my troubles?

I highly doubt it. Ammonia and Nitrates are supposed to always be at 0. I know ammonia burns fish when it is too high and I've heard somewhere that Nitrates do that as well. So it seems as if its burning the fish's body and its producing slime to fight it off. Do a 50% change and test the water. If its still high I would d0 another 50 instantly to get that up. 5+ is extremely high and deadly.

Nitrates and nitrites in 125 are DOWN checked a few hours ago. Just having cloudy eyes at this point. The 40 breeder on the other hand seems to have a fungus invasion and levels are all 0 or close to 0 that i cannot call it the next color. TEMP in both tanks 82F and salt added.

I'm extremely puzzled then. You should go post this in the general discussion area where there is a lot more traffic and you'll get help much quicker. Good luck
