[HELP] Tank NOT cycling

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
bought superbac, did a water change today, superbac is coming in 6 days,

did a 25% water change, ammonia 2.3 ppm went to 1.6 ppm
I added another aerator for my fish, removed carbon from my filter to get ready for superbac

Just to let you know it took me 82 days for my 75 gallon to cycle with five fishes in it. Ammonia was around 4 ppm all the time and I changed water 50% water every three weeks.

my god, but im getting superbac it says it cycles in 24 hours to 5 days..
and also wow 82 days is.. like 3 months! :WHOA:
no wonder, ammonia can't be too high if you're cycling.

82 days would imply something was not balanced in the tank. Perhaps it was overstocked or some parameter was very outside the norm? Even without seeding it's never taken me longer than about a month to cycle a tank.

new update:

water changed: 35%

Ammonia: 1.0 ppm
pH: 6.8 ppm ( BEFORE adding baking soda) soo after is 7.0
nitrite: ZERRRROOOOOOOOO

nitrate: ZERRROOOOOO :(

waiting for SUPERBAC to come

HUH ? Sure it can, not to mention your poor fish can't be to happy with you.

All the above is why I am such a big fan of fishless cycling.

Syntax error. By 'can't' OP meant 'shouldn't'.
