ok here we go tested water 10 min ago-
ammonia-0ppm
ph-7.0
nitrite-0ppm
nitrate-about 30ppm
carbonate hardness-0ppm
general hardness-30ppm

other then very low KH, things seem good. hows the water look right now? did u feed today?

havetn fed in 2 days, im doing a 25% water change tonight how do i raise the kh?

i have the same problem as u. i used Crushed Coral to raise my KH. however, it will also raise ur pH as well. i put 5LBs of CaribSea Florida crushed coral in the top tray of my FX5. it brought my KH from 0 to 80-120ppm and my PH from 6.8 to 7.4-7.8.

i keep South American fish in the tank which prefer a lower pH. however, most fish can adapt to a single PH, never a fluctuating one. so i would rather my PH to be high then unstable.

there's also products sold in stores that will raise KH. i don't believe in using those..

there's also a baking soda and Epsom salt recipe. u need to add it ever time u do a water change. the same thing goes for those chemical buffers sold in stores. however, with crushed coral u add it once to the filter and it slowly dissolves over the years. plus crushed coral gives a slow reaction, it doesn't instantly jump ur PH and KH up like baking soda/Epsom salt and chemical buffers.

is this the cause of the clouding? or am i still ion a bloom

is the low kh causing my cloudy water or is it still a bacteria bloom

the bacteria bloom is causing the cloudy water.

however, 0 KH could make ur PH crash, which could cause the beneficial bacteria to die off, if the PH goes below 6. this would cause the tank to cycle again and a bacteria bloom to occur.

gotcha i did a water change last night heres todays results, ne feeding since water change
nitrate-20ppm
nitrite-0ppm
ph-7.0
kh-around 20ppm
general hardness-40ppm
