No, I tried to explain with pictures so you wouldn't get confused :nilly:.

You get the regulator that hooks onto the faucet to reduce the water pressure so that the rest of the system doesn't blow out, overflowing the pond with toxic chlorinated water and killing all the fish, flooding you and possibly your neighbors yards and having your landlord kick you out for damages incurred.

Then you hook up a potable water hose to the regulator and out to the pond where you install the drip fitting with the GPH rating that you want to use.

I paid $15 for the last filter (cartridge) case I bought (3 mo's ago) form HD and $5 ea for the carbon filters.

Did you ever call the water company there and find out what they're using to treat the water with?

This is why I say to drip it into the water return (both).

And I refer to my previous statement (post # 12).

The forgotten Google link... http://www.google.com/search?client...nel=s&hl=en&q=french+drain&btnG=Google+Search

Clearer yet?

Dr Joe

.
its fl im used to being flooded
will call and ask about water.
you got the whole filter, case and filter for 20 bucks?
will a carbon filter make it so i dont need to add aqua safe?
on the drip thing
so i cut off a hose end
add a regulator "those regs look like they only have one side for a hose to fit on"
then more hose
then to the filter
then to irrigation tube "how do i go from hose size down to irrigation tube?"
then to the drip tip
this close to right?
a 30 psi reg wont blow out a 0.5gph drip end?
that part i dont get lol
might have to go look at that section of lowes lol

so back to my cheap idea
all this fitting that fitting this hose,is sounding like alot of $
so back to my hose with a valve on the end.lol
any other ways to add aquasafe/prime besides an iv that my neighbors and friends wont think im :screwy: :grinno:

and what about this part?
and what about aqua safe
one guy mentioned it might not do anything
water dripping all day then by the time the aqua safe drips the new water is already blended in the pond.
am i way off?lol

save your money, that system is crap. Nothing does what it is suppose to. The pressure regulator is only a restrictor, as are the drip emitters.

The hose will come off the fittings all the time because the regulator does not reduce the pressure. Btw, mine leaked profusely.

The emitters were suppose to reduce the flow to 1gph, but they shot a stream between 5gph and 10gph.

Btw, you can piece the same system together from parts that really do work from HD or Lowes. I have not had good success with the gray regulators from HD though.

ya i went there and priced it all and it cost way more then i wanted to spend on this
:irked:

What price range did you want to keep it at?

Also, what gph are you looking for in emitter?

To make the HF system 'work', you will need to hook it up to a dedicated faucet. Then you use the faucet to do the actual dripping. You will need to regularly tweek it. I had to tweek my HF system daily and it drove me nuts.

If you want the parts from my HF kit, pm me your address and I'll send it to you.

cheap is always my range  buck? 2 bucks? :grinno::grinno:

gph
do they make a 1/4 gph?lol
if i do 1 gph in a week my lil pond will have no old water lol

and thanks a bunch on the offer but if its not going to work it does me no good :D

what gph ends did that thing come with anyways? :)

I don't think I saw anyone mention it but have you potable hose lead to a reservior with a toilet type fill, wouldn't the gas exchange work naturally, you could even waterfall it in over charcoal for further purity, good luck

The ends are called emitters. They were rated at 1gph, but produced probably 10-20gph. On my 250g, the waste tank empties about once every two hours. With the HF emitter it would empty every 15-20 minutes.

At HD and Lowes, you can get emitters rated at .5gph.

How about just using a garden hose and using the spiggot to adjust the flow down to a drip. The problem that you will run into is that as the pressure from the faucet changes, the rate of flow will also change.
