help with my dvd burner

hey guys, my dvd burner is CDDVDW TS-H653F. I have been trying to burn Sony 16x/1x DVD-R's and I cannot get the burner to work. I have successfully burned a dvd on the same exact media I am trying to use and now when I try to burn, the DVD will continuously spin without ever advancing in progress. I usually need to restart the computer since the drive will not open/stop spinning. When i remove the media, it is hot to the touch. any suggestions? thanks!

Will it read a premade DVD or an already burned DVD?

it will play feature film DVDs as well as a burned DVD movie on the same exact media, Sony DVD-R

i forgot to add, i successfully burned a cd-r today but it still won't burn the dvds

I have tried multiple dvd burning apps, multiple converters, and still it has no change

these apps include sup dvd creator, movavi videosuite 7, and a couple others that i have since uninstalled and i don't remember their names

You should use AnyDVD and CloneDVD, they're the best. A little expensive though...

i'm trying to create dvd's more so than copy them. are they good for doing that, like converting files and such? but honestly i'm not concerned about the software right now. i gotta figure out why my drive isn't working first
