k just got back from lowes with 2 36" bar clamps and a tube of silicon. glass is ok so it shouldn't be a big deal to reseal it just worried about the bio....

Take your two HOB's attach them to your sump, fill up the sump and turn them on.
That should be good. Although you still have the fish to think about.

You could even do that. Then if you have any extra pvc laying around, extend the in andf out tubes from the sump down into the tank and turn it on.

"Whisper i" filter would come in handy. They have suction cups on them and can be put low in the tank. It is a big tank, but a little bit is better than nothing.

i've got 2 hydor powerheads still running in the tank for aeration. could i leave the clamps on and refill it?

dont just use the clamp ons. grab a couple 2x4's or two pieces of something like that ot clamp between the clamps and the tank. to spread out the pressure. If you do that and that clamps hold, you should be good.
