Yep, that's the idea. Wait a day to fill but leave the clamps on for 48 hrs (check the label for the full cure time). All brands are not created equal. When I did those silicone experiments earlier this year, one of the brands didn't fully cure on the inside.

Still doesnt hurt to keep the clamps on there for a few days.

Yeah, looks like you got it nailed down in the pics.
Keep those clamps on for several days, if not even a week. I'd keep the water low for a day or so, then start filling it slowly over a couple of days.

For what it's worth. Sorry I could'nt be more help. This is a permanent brace because the glass broke. There are two. This was all done quickly without the help of these fine people..I wish I could do it over, but it's working now for several months.
