ich like that doesnt happen over night... holeh

Next time keep an eye out for any fish scratching on rocks. It is the first sign of an infestation. ^he is right, something like that will take several days to get that bad and it may be fatal if not caught early enough. Fun fact:it is not the white dots that you can see on the fish that do the most harm, it is the many more that are stuck to the gills of the fish which can eventually kill it.

I'm going tomorrow to get a bigger heater for the tank it's a 100wt and its a 55g so I'm going to get a 150wt and some aquarium salt, and some Meds (just to have as a back up) and put temp at 86-88. also do I need to unplug the filter because of the carbon and how many tablespoons per g (also there are angel fish in there) and can I stick Meds with the salt in the tank.

Just pull the filter cartridge out and stuff some other media in there if you want. Do not turn the filter off. The angel fish will be fine.

Either do salt and heat treatment or meds. Do not do both at the same time. Did you read the stickies yet?

Like everyone else said salt and heat. There are two stickies on this subject and how to treat. It's going to look worse once you start and make sure you oxygenate the water more because of the heat.

Good luck

Yea well I bought some Meds and heat at Walmart and put it in at around 3 and now all the ick is almost gone I think by tomorrow it should be gone if so I'm going to do a 90% WC and keep temp at 82° for a while. AND NEVER FEED LIVE FOOD AGAIN.
