well thanks alot!!! now i have that mind set on it yet again:irked: but not with koi this time thank gosh lol

jerk. lol.

Fancy goldfish need warmish water (74F). But you can keep common goldfish in that pond. It's too big for koi, but a couple of common goldfish, or comets, would work.

I have sarasa, wakins, philadelphia veil tails, fantails, and black moors in my tank.. Water gets in the 30's and they do just fine. He can do fancy without any issues.

Oranda's can tolerate temps into the low 60's. (so they would not be ideal)

But depending on where you are, the 300 gallon preform would freeze like a popsicle, so it would be best to bring them in when the water starts getting icy on top.

Didn't know you have Philadelphia veiltails. Do you have pics of them? I'd love to see these ones.

I have 2 of them.. I don't have any pics, but I can try to catch them and get some pics. they were given to me one day when I picked up koi.. the vendor didn't want those "crappy feeder fish."

That's very strange. I've never seen veiltails rejected just like that. Of course, the true veiltails should not have forked tails. I wonder if he missed the obvious uniqueness of these fish.

He is an at home koi vendor in MD. Doesn't deal with goldfish, not even shubunkins.

Could you explain what you mean by not having forked tails? I have a super nice fantail too :)
