I have an 1100G pond and even I won't add Koi...for said reasons.

I have a 1500 gallon koi- It's currently over stocked since they can't go in my 5000 gal pond yet- But, because I have UV's, and clean their filter and do water changes, I have no issues ever.

When I first started- it was HORRIBLE- but not everything has been up and running and I've had no issues in over a year with any koi.

hey i have 4 kois in there and its been 2 months and they are living great... no problems at all and thanks for the advice guys. I will keep up the updates and i dont feed the kois they eat the plants inside my pond... haha feed it 3 times a day.. ^^ that is kinda over feeding honestly. I have never heard feeding koi 3 times a day. I live in SoCal so the water is around 40-50 degree haha they love the water and is doing great. The pond is around 2-3.5 feet deep and 8-10 feet wide. I change the water once a month. I will update keep an update on the pond this week.

Kinda confused here. So you are feeding or not feeding?
I hope not if 40-50 is your current temps.
Properly feeding 3X daily is not uncommon.

Stonecats, Sunfish (lepomis sp), silvery minnows, common and striped shiners would all work in a 300g.
