Looks like I'll have to find alternative for the female Marble I am seeking. Good reads, glad to see people on both side of the fences.
good luck with fating the rays. I find that good temp (80-84), frequent small feeds, and lots of 20-30% water changes, help, from my experience.

its a shame that this thread has done more harm then good.
it shouldnt have turned out like this.

I agree with Leoguy that Ray should have waited to post pictures...or atleast a warning in the title.

WOW ! is all I can say happy sunday everyone,

Yes that is the male i ordered who has a thousand island look . They are still doing ok not in the best shape did a nice small water change last night , then who calls me Shawn to make sure they are ok and to give me some tips , and yes he will make good if all else fails but theres at least a lot of time needed in between to help them get back as far as I can see this morning the slime coat is back to normal great sign and they are pushing up on the tank to get my attention for food so lets just stick with that the list may go on about vendors and names and who is worst and who has gotten cheated but the truth is what it is and instead of fighting and going back and forth lets get back to how they can and will look real soon with the right advice, think of it like this if you were involved in an accident and someone in the other car or your car was hurt badly almost dead hurt do you get out and start fighting with them or do you help them forget your car damage if your fine help out the other no matter what, yes it sucks to see them like this but what can we do but make it better. Relax its sunday alot of us have work tomorrow that should be the biggest complaint right now LOL .

Good to hear they are doing good still

Small frequent waterchanges are the best thing to do. Earthworms are the best food to get them going good imo but they can be very dirty too so be careful. I dont think warm temps are the best idea in this case since they are wild, i would stay around 78

Thanks he is a looker can't wait to see how he turns out the females also have it but.only by the yes. My temps are low right now seams they are comfortable with that. As for the worms they are not hotting.them as hard as I would want them to be chopped up and everything
The male has a long way to go the females seem stronger imo will do another water change today and by next Saturday another treatment but I keep the doses smaller then stated.

You all are quick to point fingers at the seller, but did you ever think about the fact that maybe these things are on the rebound? Maybe they looked even worse when Shawn got them? Maybe they are accepting foods because they have been eating and haven't recovered yet?

You should have seen what our Falkneri looked like when they got here..... Expected bad but was still shocked. What does that mean for people wanting to see pics? Tough sh#t. I'm absolutely thrilled to have them and am VERY thankfull the guy I got them from sold them to me, but to vendor condemers here he'd be crusified. His name would be shat on cause he didn't keep them for 2 months and nurse them back to health in order to try to achieve a thumbs up from all the hobbyists that pride themselves on providing better care then anyone else? Hello? Wouldn't it make perfect sense to get these rays that just traveled 1300 miles by car to a facility to bag up and ship 30 hours away to the hands of the real experts? The hobbyists?

People don't run ray rescue shelters, they run businesses. IF the business is ran poorly, built on false prophecies, or just plain sucks, guess what? It dies. Shawn's been doing this crap since before most of us had our first ray. If he sucked at it I'm guesssing he would have found a new line of work years ago. It shouldn't really matter to any of us anyways. it's his business, not ours. IF you've had bad experiences with Shawn, that sucks for you, but I gaurentee you are heavily outweighed by people very happy with thier rays and are buying more. For those of you all about nice captive bred specimens, be carefull who you buy your rays from in the coming years, they may have passed through Shawn's hands, cause some of the people producing rays are very happy he's still in the fish game. He's a standup guy and anybody that knows him knows he is and know when crap happens he's a good guy.

As far as him leaving MFK how the hell do you guys even know it had anything to do with business practices????
