here we go again festae or not

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow, I would just stop going there all together they don't seem reliable in the least.

i'd take them back say these are temporalis nor festae and i don't want these. Some people shouldn't have fish if they don't know the difference between them. Thats why i choose to educate myself so i avoid things like this.

am i missing something here,is this forum not to share info to help each other,am i doing something wrong here?

your not doing anything wrong other than picking crappy places to go fish hunting. the shops are the ones who are doing something wrong, like selling you chocolates as festae.

look up tri-mar and email monty and see if he can send you some festae out. they have a decent reputation.
also try wildwoods, I know they are a pleasure to deal with. see if they will ship to you.

both charge anywhere between £12-£15 for up to 15kg (i think). but as you are a little further than the norm you may have to pay a little more. tell them your woes about getting festae and im sure sympathy will get the better of them. explain to them you dont mind paying extra postage if they can make this order happen for you.

you could also look up tropical imports UK (a vendor here) as i think he was starting to send outside mainland UK. also put a call out for other Irish fish keepers that may be able to help you out, not just on this forum but other sites too. try to spread your feelers as far as possible to get a result.
good luck.

Everybody has made mistakes in this hobby. You just live and learn. No one knows every single thing about every fish they encounter. I'm sure you have learned a few valuable lessons from this experience. It's those experiences that will help you in this hobby in the future. I hope you finally get your festae. I know exactly how you feel.
