It would be like being trapped in you room for the rest of your life, why don't you just pick a smaller fish out? Maybe Exodons or something?

I guess, if you really want a 6 inch fish in a 10 inch wide tank. Bigger is always better but you're probably "safe" with proper filtration.
 
Please, please don't keep him long term in a 14 gal tank. I agree with the petsmart link above, minumum tank size is 30 gal.

Leaf Fish need a large aquarium that's at least 30 gallons.

... it bugs me that petsmart calls them "Leaf Fish"... this is a misnomer, not true leaf fish
