do those plecos grow fast?
Mine is 5" and he's about a year old and never stops eating shrimp and massivore pellets from my bichirs. I figure he'll be about 8" by spring time.
I'm going to get a 6" mono today, so I'll let you know how it goes:D.

i had a true L. pictus before.
grew him to around 16" and sold him off after that.

dont really have a thing for raphaels,or any ripsaws for that matter.
had too many.:nilly:
i MIGHT get a ray...if not a juru.

whats the difference between a yepezi and motoro care wise?
a part from the fact they get much smaller.
ive heard teacups are hard to get to eat prepared foods as well.

i had some geos before, every other fish outcompeted them and then proceeded to eat their eyeballs when they were so weak...
yeah, mine went from 7 to 16" really fast and that's where it's at now. that's cool you had one. I've only ever seen 1 at an LFS and it's the one I got.

I understand about raphs. I like your idea of a juruense. I'm trying to trade my L. pictus for a smaller juruense and the guy at the LFS still hasn't taken my offer....bad deal for me, good deal for him.

not much difference, they should just be cheaper and more abundant (at least from what i've seen here), so it wouldn't be as big of a loss

huh, i was thinking about getting some red heads and clowns for my tank...never heard that about them before

motoro are the most common and cheapest here.LOL
hmmm...so many choices.:nilly:

yepezi (usually mistakenly labeled as hystrix) and are usually like $10 or so cheaper and probably have about the same availability here...not much difference, i guess

hmmm...yeah.
another problem is that lfs arent allowed to sell rays anymore.i think.
have to go to the farms to find them.

I cant believe no ripswas. Id say niger is definately the best choice. Gut besides that, id go with common plecs (no $), tig/jurense/, gulper cat, or small rays like retics. Unless you want to stay all out SA, id go with girrafe cats, bichirs, or chinese algae eaters. Good luck! Also, severums are pretty hardy and could prbly live with a pbass. they are too round for a pbass to swallow.
