did you have to wash it first? How much? I'm trying to decide on Hoomedepot vs Leslies PFS at $11.49 per 50lb bag

Yes I washed it a couple of times, water cleared overnight. It's $8.49 per 50 lb bag but if PFS is $11.49 per 50 lb then go for PFS not much price difference IMO. The reason I bought HD sand is because they're selling PFS for $28 per 50 lb here, big difference. I'd prefer PFS myself if it wasn't priced that much.

I think 28 for 50# isn't bad for pfs I paid 20$ per 20 # for super smooth premium fine (white) sand.
And this price is with out tax. :/

Well if that's the case, I might use it on my next setup.

I bought 3-70lb bags of Quikrete All Purpose Sand at Home Depot this weekend for just over $10.00 total. The sand is darker than Leslie's PFS, it's a dark brown, which I prefer to the light colored sand. Just be sure to sift through it really well because there are rocks of all sizes in it, some big and some small. Rinse well too, of course.

Here's the link for PFS! I haven't purchased yet, I'm waiting for someone to buy my crapy black&Blue epoxy gravel that came with my tank when I purchased. I will post some pics when I get it. I'm probably going mix about 10lbs of something else to give it some character. Stay Tuned!

Yeah, it's different. This is what I got and it's 100 lbs. I previously stated 50 lbs., my bad.
