Home fire, 600 gallon acrylic tank melted

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am sure glad you are able to get a fresh start ,, good luck with all your future endeavors

house plans are finalized, permit to build should be approved this week hopefully.

part of the house plans includes a fish room, aquarium order was placed, it will be a 15'L x 4'W by 30" high acrylic aquarium. After much thought and discussion with my wife, we are going to make this a saltwater aquarium full of big angels, tangs, triggers and a mappa puffer.

Will provide more updates, details and pics when the tank and house build progress further.

I hope everything is coming along great. Just to let you know after this reading this thread I took a few hours to organize my cords. Thanks for sharing this thread could have helped prevent an another incident from happening. Are you putting coral in the tank? If you do once the tanks is running I am going to send you a few to start you off.

Here is an older picture of my wires. Once I got a sump thinks even got worse.

Summary: House burned to the ground last week, started in aquarium room, cause still under investigation.

Just found this thread. Deeply sorry for all your losses. Glad to here your rebuilding and getting your lives back together. I am really surprised your wife wants another fish tank since that could have been the cause of the fire.

Great suggestion! I spilled water onto a multiboard sitting on the ground years ago, about a week later the damn thing heated up and nearly caught fire! Luckily we were home and noticed the smell, but after that I've always tried to have them off the ground in places where they won't get dripped/spilled on.

Chaidan, sounds like a fantastic plan, that is an epic sized tank!!

Hey Clek, I am glad to hear that things are looking up. Please pm me anytime, even if you just want to shoot this ...... :)

Just sent you a p.m. take a look at it. :)

Hi Friends, Happy New Year! Hope all is well with you and yours, and your aquariums, I really miss having one, someday soon...

House build is slow moving but heading in the right direction.

Old house has been demolished, it's surreal driving by it. We lived there for 14 years.
