Very sorry for your losses.. Glad the family made it out. The part about the pets really made we want to cry, i know how much i love mine. Hopefully you can find a loving puppy to help your wife and child start the healing process.

If anything you MTKers use this as a wake up call to check your fire alarms, electrical outlets and equipment, etc you never think this could happen to you but ... Yeah

Man that's absolutely horrible, but I know you and your family will rebuild and become stronger!

A circuit should have tripped if it had reverse load. Did you have light ballasts?

Again extremely sorry for your losses!

i feel for your wife and you and children...... to me losing pets is like losing family... my condolences.......
 
My condolences for your loss! Can't imagine what you have to go through..
Any leads on which aquarium equipment or anything that started the fire yet? I heard older model Odyssea lighting fixture caught on fire but not sure what's the case here.

So sorry for your loss... and honestly more so for your wife, daughter, and your losses of other family members.. furred, feathered, and finned. I know I would not be ready to adopt another pet after such a trauma but if its what will help I hope you and your family recover well. another 'thought" would be to foster for a shelter/rescue until you found the right fit for your family =) so there is no preassure on your wife if its just not working out and she not ready ect. I have a few friends that have lost pets traumaticly that did this.. and it worked out great as eventually they found the right "foster" to adopt.
 
Hi All a new beginning. I just closed on this secluded area this morning. Time to move on and start planning the build of my future home. A monster fish tank is definitely being planned. Thanks again for everyone's thoughts, will keep you guys updated.
