Do any of your neighbors have snakes? Could be an escaped feeder, I would also check in and around your house for more.
Well its a male so I dont think I took it from any babies. If he is an escaped feeder thats kinda sad because hes very sweet natured. He spent the afternoon riding around in my apron pocket while I was out working in the fish room and gardening.

I listed him on Craigslist but people keep standing him up. I hate when ppl do that crap.

I meant that they tend to form colonies, once a colony is formed they tend to hang out within a less than 120 foot perimeter from the nest/colony , seen this happen with domestic feeder rats and mice, if one escaped/was released , there is a high probability there are others that escaped /got released.

well if he was living in a colony close by then they've likely been up rooted. All the surrounding neighbors had to have their topsoil removed just like me. I've been looking for signs of rats/mice coming into the house because everything has been so disturbed out in our yards. Been making sure to keep all food sources sealed away and all the nooks and cranies swept out.

Leave a live trap out with bait, and keep an eye out

No owner, can't give him away, very sweet, it sounds like you're going to be stuck with him ;).

Meh...at least he didn't sh't in my pocket while he was hanging out with me today. Some one will get him sooner or later..if Emma doesnt kill him first, feeding him cookies and butter. Gonna name him Wilfred Brimley coz hes gonna end up with diabetes

Haha she was feeding him cookies? I'd be more tempted to feed him baby carrots just to see him stuff them in his mouth :p.
Wait she fed him straight butter?

Yes. She had him in her lap and was holding a stick of butter for him when I got out of the shower. He was just nom nom noming away. He gonna crap like a goose now i bet.

LOL!....I guess it wouldn't be very pleasant to have rodent pellets jammed underneath your finger nails.
