Thanks Scott. I have six Managuense in total. That's more of them than any other fish save maybe Convicts and Labridens.

With that you could definently keep them alive in the hobby. Were they all brought back. If so with all the different bloodlines you could keep the bloodlines fresh with some help I am sure.

I hope one day to go on one of Ken's trips, but thats years from now thats for sure.

I wasn't aware Ken had a Xanthic pair. Did he post a picture of them. I'd like to see them. I don't know enough about his fish to answer that question. These were collected in La Cieba.

Wrong, there is no commercial importation from Honduras so the only way to get a wild one is to go down there like we did and catch them, then you have to know the limted area they are in, I went to Honduras 3 times before we found them, I would not sell you a wild one cheap by any means, now F1 and F2 are availalbe at a reasonable price, people have F1 pairs from Mo and my wild pairs. My Lfs gets them a lot, never seen one as an adult though, almost all of his are around 4 or 5" long, a lot more blue than that though, he said the will lose a lot of the blue as the get older.

There is no way your local fish store is getting in Honduran jags unless they are coming form me or Mo and they are not coming from me. They might be F2 fry form some we sold to someone, but I don't remeber selleing any to anyone in Augusta. Ken

Nope, I have one as well. When these guys were collected, other than Mojo, Ken from Fish Farm also had a wild breeding pair, and back in early 2008 he sold tiny f1 fry. Everyone snatched them up, and since then Ken lost his male and was unable to breed them. I lost 3 and kept 2 alive at less than an inch. Fearing that these would not be a pair, I asked Mojo for some fry but he does not ship (i dont blaim him, its a pain in the butt). Lucky for me the remaining two were a breeding pair. I wish there was a way to prove it, there is no obvious difference between the hondos and common jags but a little more blue in the right lighting. Youl just have to believe me or not. Hopfully Mojo and Ken can vouch for me

All the Honduran jags in the hobby came from the few pairs Mo and I have that were collected out of one lagoon north of La Ceiba, I have sold about 500 fry and whatever Mo has distributed, I know of a couple of people who have F1 pairs from my fish breeding so F2 fry should start becoming available this year, I really doubt any pet sotre has any real Honduran jags from this line. There are other managuense from farther south in Honduras we caught last year that have a very fine reticulated pattern and are almost white, but we lost them all and none made it back so they are not in the hobby yet. There is no Xanthic pair from Honduras. Ken

Beautiful specimen! Everytime I look at your managuense pictures, I always have the urge to get some. I wished you could ship your honduran jags.

What you guys think of this guy f1 f2 (jag in the back) Pic was taken last month so a little bigger and more blue just hard to get good pics. how you get the blue in the pics to show???
