The Rapps fish I purchased were $7.50 plus shipping at 1.25 inches. They are a very nice light blue like yours.

The baby's I picked up from a LFS were $1.50 but the quality is crap. They have spawned in my tank but I will Cull them like I said because I think they are hybrids.

I know a breeder on antoher board that has F1 adults at a pair for $20. But he knows the blood line. I would pay $5 if they looked like your pics.
 
The guy I got them from runs a VERY small shop, so his prices might be a little higher. He definately knows his fish though and he doesn't try to hide anything. I will have to ask him what he knows about them. He mentioned that he knew Rapps, so I guess it's possible that's where the original fish came from.
 
I have heard that these guys can develop a small hump like a convict. I wonder how big they need to be before sexually mature, because I swear it looks like the big one (about 1") is starting to get a bump on his head.
 
As the owner of Sheps HRP's I can vouch for the Big Male being just as tough as any other fish out there, he was in a 20L with some females in an effort to spawn but was just too hard on them........He now resides is my 125 Community with some very tough fish and 3 male cons as well. he already owns the Cons who are the same size, but the HRP is a thinner and longer fish vs the Con being more of a thicker fish. Side by Side there is a big difference. If I can post a pic of my Huge Male HRP with the Male Cons I will..... Buts it's just not as easy to get those 2 fish in the same area as the HRP runs them all out of dodge.

Age wise, I would have to check with Shepdawg, I have had him for about 3 months, I would assume he is at least a year and a half.....
 
yes and the male is a bad ass!! and the one that he was shipped with killed his mate and a buddy of mine in naperville had his female kill his female too
 
Thanks for the heads up. When they get to that age I will be sure to have a divider on hand.
