I see how you might think it's a cross. The way his forehead slopes down to his mouth doesn;t look like other pics that I have seen. That female looks brown in the pic. Is she actually reddish?

I have black gravel in my tank and the biggest one has gotten so blue under his chin - it's nay or almost purplish.

The Male is faded cause of the flash in the cross pair. He is actually very dark blue with dark black stripes. The female is slate grey with aqua blue in the fins.

I know they are too many generations inbred or crosses because of the body shape and I bought five from the same spawning parents. Two of the fish have completely different body shapes and look like ****. Three look different than an F1 Red point(what he sold them as) but similar.

They have convict features. I met the breeder in the shop at the time. I honestly walked out and was sitting in my car and thought to myself " That guy was an idiot". He had no idea what he was talking about with the fry he was trading. I shouldn't have bought them.

I have 2 pairs and some other females with 20+ 1/4 inch fry in a breeding net and one pair has spawned again in a crowded cichlid tank. They are cool aggression wise as the wont kill their tank mates but they can hold their own territory very well. I have a male that will take on a Vieja Melanermus.

Red points are not convicts. They differ in diet, and spawning behaviors. Obviously coloration. You will see the males get a pinkish color on their tail/dorsal fins, sometime they appear to have green in them.

I purchased a pair of fish labeled as Cons, but i think they are HRP hybrids. The colors that they have in there fins look alot like the pics you guys have posted. these fish that are posted are Sweet looking.

Here is one of my HRP male. My breeding pair bred again so, I have ~20 1/4 inch fry in a breeding net just starting to get color and 12+ little wigglers in the gravel. They are with a bunch of other cichlids and plecos too, its crazy you can breed them with others in the tank. If any ones in the bay area I will have some for sale soon.

The color on these fish is amazing. I can't even imagine what breeding colors look like on an adult.
