Hose VS PVC on Ultima Filter

Flexible PVC is not that flexible, so you should position the angle of the dangle before gluing. Once you glue it and the hose it bowing the opposite direction you're going to have trouble. The union will also take care of this problem. I know it's a little late to suggest but I would of went rigid piping.

Looks awesome, are those smaller ultimas? I have the Dart pump 3600 GPH, with the one you have, do you need to use a heater? I have heard the pump can heat the water on some pumps which in some cases wouldnt need a heater.

Homemade filters with glass media. Each with a Wave 1/15hp (3000gph). Pump does not heat the water so I have a heater hanging in the tank. None of my tanks have sumps.

Im not down with sumps, with my luck, Id come home to a flood at some point. I have the Ultima 10,000 with the Dart 3600GPH, I need to get it up asap, the HOBs just arent cutting it anymore.

You're replacing your HOB with a WHAT????? Apt got no room for some pipe because that dang monster filter is taking all the room. I'm sure you meant Ultima 1000.

i hope he meant 1000 too. if its a 10,000 he should be using a pump thats more than 3600 gph.

Yea thats what I meant, 10,000. There was a lot of back and worth as to why it will and will not work. I went ahead and got it from BigRich after he made a big post about it, everyone seemed to stop talking about it. I did try to sell it when I got it but couldnt find any buyers. So, what BigRich said made sense so I got a 3600GPH pump. I also spoke with a rep from UltimaFilter.com, they too said the same thing as BigRich, even thou they recommend what the package says, in theory this will work as well. So here I am, setting it up.

Does someone want to buy it from me or trade for a smaller Ultima??
