Thanks for chipping in with your 5 cents my friend!!coura;4716711; said:I have ZERO hot experience appart of reading many articles, papers and books about them, but as 20 plus year hobbist with experience in many diferent species of amphibians and reptiles and as well as a licenced biologist, one of the things Ive learned is to expect the inexpected from any animal. From a turtle being able to climb over a 2 meter fence covered with english ivy to lizards being able squeze themselfes in small openings. In you case, a baby cobra being able to bite you wille your tailing it, I dont find that surprising...I find that granted and its something I wouldnt even try if I had the chance.
I find amazing your photoshop with your cobras, your showing them with the ease/state of mind of someone that shows its leopard gecko or a bearded dragon, and your disagreement with people that are just trying to help you and which advice can save your life! To be trully honest I dont think you should be keeping something so letal with that atitude. That is a snake I would only feal confortable in the same room, with her being inside a locked, unbreakable cage. My 5 cents...

You can't possibly think that you can tail a baby Cobra, which is quick, agressive, and being small, has about a foot until it's on your arm, while balancing a camera in the other. Next thing ya know, you're cold and stiff on the kitchen floor and there's a Cobra on the loose in your building. The term "Hot Snake" refers to the fact that you don't touch a hot stove or engine block, and you don't touch a Hot Snake. It's not a Corn Snake that you can just put in your lap and cuddle with, although I think maybe you'd be better off keeping Corn Snakes. I'd really like to know what the dealer that sold you these animals would think if he read this thread. He isn't doing anything but hurting the industry by selling Hots to incompetent keepers.
That's it. You're gonna end up dead at this pace if you keep it up. Where did you get this idea that baby Cobras don't envenomate? I always heard that baby Hots are more dangerous because they can't control their venom yield, so you get a load of venom, and therefore are in greater danger. Well whatever, see you on Animal Planet "Fatal Attractions".
