It answers the question perfectly. Because it is a fish it doesn’t deserve better treatment.
Also, aros are known to be more intelligent than most other fish, if I’m not mistaken.
The benefit other than being able to go a little longer between WCs is negligible
So a fish being able to swim for a split second longer before turning around makes a huge difference? If you were arguing between a 300 and a 3000, I’d agree, but an extra couple feet for a 3’ fish is very insignificant
More stable water conditions and being less cramped and having a little more room to swim would all be beneficial. I seem to be drawn in to the 300 v 500 gallon debate when in reality I feel both are totally unsuitable for a fish like and aro. Personally I feel a large pond is much more suitable captive arrangement.
I'd rather see them not for sale in local fish stores.
300 to 500 is a difference, maybe not big for a huge fish, but in my opinion every bit counts.

If the argument is 300g vs a large pond, I 100% agree, that’s why I never got an aro although I’ve wanted one for 20 years
ya, but they’re too small. If aros were 12-18 “ they’d be perfect lol
