you are absolutely right..it is too common.. but we are getting the word out... and i notice this is on a decline compared to the recent past... let those arows bump their heads...{thats bad enough} but don't let them sail out.. weight it down and close those hatches..
 
Yeah I have learnd the hard way. I will be adding latches to my tops hopefully this weekedn till then I got 4x4s holding the tops down.

Last week I was close to my tank and my silver got spooked , he hit my glass top 3 times really hard . I was scared to death I thought he was coming through it. I am really sorry for your loss wow what a beautiful monster.
