He will be missed I ahve to put him out with the trash tonight. That's going to SUCK. I was flirting with the idea of mounting these monsters but I don't have the monet now and wouldn't even know where to get it done.
 
until it happens to you you will never understand how an arow can push and shove and excape if there is no weight on the top.. and in this case that was a big opening.. i am so sorry for your loss .. when it happened to me i figured the only thing i can do is preach to everyone to weigh down the tops of your tank and cover all excapes routes... this is a common occurence.. and it is a tragic one.. so sad...:( Arowanas are natural jumpers in the wild... and they have huge amount of room...in captivity they can only go by instincts and thats where we have to prevent them from killing themselves..

Oh, man. Sorry to hear. That sucks.
I use 2x4's with tie down straps. No openings in the lids.
