I guess if anything a rename of this thread and a sticky maybe a good idea to help people rethink the tops for there tank with big aros like mine was. (past tense is hard to write)
I think I am going to do little wooden Latches for the acrylic. Or do wooden "channels" for the top to fit into and it will only come out if they slide out instead of go up
I guess it's just not something that I thought possible. I figured that the wieght was enough and the hole was small enough. either way I'm sorry for getting pissy about this with some of you. It's more of the I can't believe this happened and It's still a B1tch to take. So soory if I got to defensive about the design of the top.
point taken ... mine has been jumping lately, and has made it to the floor twice now in the middle of the night. luckily i sleep right there, wake up in a panic and toss him back in ...
my TSN chases him at night and scares him up and out ...
i have been putting it off, but i just decided the rest of my night is going to be sealing up and weighting down ALL of my tops
or if the TSN is really the cause of your aro freaking out at night maybe us hould seperate them so that the aro can live through calm nights not thrashing
How about putting hinges and a padbolt down on the acrillic? It need not be too big, just enough, and you can unlock it when you need too. I probably could replace an aro for an aro, esspecially after watching it grow to 30".
