How do I get a dat off live?

Thank you. This is the kind of response I was looking for as opposed to stop feeding it.


Its the same thing... When people say starve your fish, it means dont feed Live foods (feeders) and put whatever you are trying to feed your fish in the tank once a day. After about 1-2hrs if it is still there (and no other tankmate eats the food), throw it away so it dont mess with your water.

Maybe no one way direct in the instructions when they say "Starve him"
it means give your fish "Options"... Shrimp or starve till you eat shrimp

Im on the same program with 2 of my NTTs
Im just hoping they see the other tank mates and get curious

I understand but I meant that I like the fact that he elaborated rather then just stating to starve the fish. Of course I know how to starve a fish. But I really wanted to know what to do while starving your fish etc.

you are not starving the fish if you offer the foods you want it to eat daily

its just the fish being a spoilt brat

offer it food daily it will eat in the end only a foolish fish will starve to death just because its not getting what it wants

its the fish choice eat or die

Started the methods you posted. The dat is on the 4th day with no budge. I have offered shrimp daily but no touching so i remove it. I also use a bichir that eats shrimp to train. So that when he sees the bichir eat, maybe he will eat it.

When I started keeping tigers, I had little will power and gave in after a week of starving (offering only praws).
In the end I lost interest and relied on the forum members advice and experience. Since then, my tigers have taken anywhere between 4 weeks to 8 months to convert their feeding habits.

the trick is don't give in and don't panic that the tiger hasn't eaten for 6-8 weeks

some give in faster than others but they normally give in after about 4-6 weeks

i have used the eat or die method on many expensive fish ST tigrinus cat and Asian aros they will give in rather than starve to death

Ok thanks for the reassurance. I feel much more comfortable. Have any of you tried feeding your fishes frozen blue anchovie fish? A friend of mine says that he buys them at the asian supermarket and his datnoid takes is daily. He had gotten it at about 4 inches and is now approx 7-8 and very fat. This is 2 years later.

My last dat finally took shrimp! I was soo worried. It's an ntt by the way. Still skinny though, very skinny. He only ate live that's why. Good luck bro.
