How do I get rid of snails??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mts you cant short of burning down the tank.
They only breed to the food supply so make sure there is less extra food

Maybe you should actually read my first post instead of just the title....Actually they are quite active, but like frozen food better than live...

Sorry bro. I read it while I was at work and must of missed the last sentence. I was in a hurry.

I agree with wyldfya. The veggie method works. Also inspect under sides of leaves and look for jelly like egg masses and remove them.

Sorry I jumped to a conclusion without proof. Will any veggie work or do some work better than others? Thanks.

Koi are actualy pretty good at eating snails, thats how many fish stores clean there tanks. Althought they are messy themselves and don't eat the eggs, you could go buy a small sized koi (just a few inches) and let it stay in your tank temporarily until you get the snail problem under control. Regular gold fish and fancy gold fish will do about the same job. But then again the goldfish and koi might eat your plants also if they feel that they are hungry which they almost always are. If its a last ditch effort, buy one try it out for a few months, and then sell it back. Chances are that in the time you have the fish it will get larger and you will not loose any money on the purchase price. It helps if you pick the snails off the sides and drop them in where the fish can get to them, lets them have a taste of what they could have if they put in the effort. And like someone mentioned before, the snails will only breed to what the tanks food resources are, so watch the overfeeding

In medium bowl combine escargots (snails), mushrooms, line melted butter parsley, garlic salt and pepper.Set aside for 5 mints. Prepare mushroom caps. Put half a teaspoon of bread crumbs in each mushroom cap. Spoon one escargot and garlic butter into each cap. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
