how do you get rid of illegal fish

i personally think the law should state that they are illegal to sell and not to keep because its a pet and it would be wrong to kill a pet for no real reason.
 
All joking aside I wonder what the fine is for a snakehead. And I hauled a bunch of barrier walls to the place in lockport IL were they put the electric wall in the shipping canal to keep the carp out of lake Michigan.

Throwing it in your local river seems to be the best option. What could possibly go wrong?

Your only option is to have a fish fry.. If you eat it at least it went to good use and didn't die in vain. Depends on what kind of fish it is though. Either way I wouldn't risk keeping it, as much as it sucks that we have laws in place that keep us from owning certain animals they are there because some people have ruined it for the rest of us. In no way should you release it into the wild. It's suggestions like those that are the reasons why we have these laws in place. Releasing it into the wild will just give them more ammo to make the laws even more stringent.
 
Asian fish markets did get busted by feds if they are keeping LIVE illegal fish. Don't give any illegal fish to someone, lfs or asian fish market you will endangering their businesses & wreck their lives. I don't care if its healthy or too big...kill it!
 
Oh by the way, just ignored the people who suggests OP to not kill an illegal fish, they don't have no clue about how much $$$$ in fines. A fine can ruin your hobby, your career or even your life.
 
You are probley right there going to lock you away for good for having a fish lol I'd bet it was no more then a fine and your name in the news paper
