I moved a VERY heavy 270-gallon tank recently. Best method is to make sure you have some friends with strong backs!
save some of your water, if you dont have some strong friends (I have some pretty weak friends, I am the one they call to help move them) call the piano movers. Creating is an awsome idea too!SteveO said:Best way to move your tank:
Step 1: Save 75% of the water, move fish into temporary holding tanks
Step 2: Take 15lb. sledge hammer
Step 3: Swing sledge hammer into front pane of tank
Step 4: If step 3 did not break glass Go To step 2, otherwise continue to Step 5
Step 5: Explan to wife; "Tank broke, need larger tank with thicker glass"!
Step 6: Burn and discard evidence
Step 7: Order larger tank, preferably 300+ gallon
