I grow an Armatus to 18" in a standard 60gal acrylic tank. Depend on your feeding, it grows about 1.5"/month until it hit 7"-8" mark then it slow down to 1"/month until it hit 12" mark
Yes, grow it from 9"-10" to 18" in a 48"x16"x18" the past year without any problem18" in a 60gal
?
You can keep it in that tank for about 1.5 years to 2 years, when it reach 18"-20"so how many months would he be great in a 48"x18" ... till he hit 10" or so ?
Better to keep it alone. A lot of people think they're tough fish, but at the end of the day, they're just tetra. I moved my 18" into a 300gal a month ago. He can't compete for food with arowana, pbass or datnoid, got suck by flagtail...what would you do for tankmates for them at that size if any

ATF's do fine with it though ... just saying! Maybe give you a push to come over to the dark side!![]()
That is NOT insane. Most of people tend to over think. I was not the first one did that. Single fish in a tank, easy to feed, no competition, no fight, no injury. Quite simple, yet sounds insane?Thats insane growing an Army to 18 inches in a 60 gallon ... I believe that to be a 1% chance of happening so good job, but I wouldnt give that as advise for someone looking to get one and successfully keep it
