CDC COVID Data Tracker

Hello; Had a look at the numbers for another week. Total cases are still going down and deaths are still staying low.

Not according to the world tracking source that I view every day. Yesterday the US had over 130,700 new cases and 750 deaths (should go up slightly as stragglers report their cases) Granted, that is a lot lower than the 304,638 cases recorded on Jan 8 2021. We have been under 100,000 new cases a day since February 13. Only this week have we crossed over 100,000 new cases again.

In January we had days with over 4,000 deaths. While the number of daily deaths has dropped from the highs of January-March, there has been a recent increase in the number of deaths. Yesterday there were 750 deaths. We had not seen that many deaths since May. Since hospitalizations and deaths to COVID-19 are much lower for vaccinated people, the number of deaths shouldn't get as high as in January-March.

We have had ten deaths in our community. Two deaths in the last 14 days. Our little 53-bed hospital has 6 ICU beds. There are 16 COVID-19 patients in our hospital right now. Our community is ill-equipped to handle this scourge.

Locally our numbers are going back up. Thursday marked the single highest daily case count, since July 1. According to federal data, our province currently also has the highest active case count in all of Canada.

Our neighborhood has two houses open, one next to us, and one right across the cul de sac.

One has been sold and the other has leased.

About the first of the month we will be getting two brand new families in our neighborhood and I have no idea how many children they will have or what their health conditions are, so it could get interesting here.

Yes, let's hope so as the hospitals and long term care facilities up here are beginning to see outbreaks again. Including where I work. What some folks don't consider is that not all residents in long term care facilities, are elderly. Some are half my age, they simply have health issues that require more than what many people can give them (or afford to give privately) at home. Those folks are unfortunately always at high risk, vaccines or not.

Locally cases are not going down with 70% of the county fully vaccinated. It’s gone up since the 4th of July 5FA0F7A0-7B75-4990-A6CE-673A5A02A21C.jpeg

Hello; Interesting how not just on this site but also on another site the source of the data can be so different. I used CDC tracker so as to avoid the pushback and cries of misinformation, but the data are conflicting anyway.
On the other site it has been suggested fear mongering is being tried to scare folks into considering the new injections for covid. I do see ads and articles using such tactics. Not sure why the injections are not yet given the nod and the emergency status removed. If it is to CYA so the companies will not be liable, that makes sense from one point of view.
I also do not see how an emergency medication can be mandated. A fully certified medication might convince more people. Just thinking.

New World Order Report...hmmmmmm.....

Plus, of course, End Times and Deep State.

Seriously...read some of the stuff these people come up with...and then do a critical re-evaluation of your choice to use them as a source of info, or as a support for any position you take in any debate.

These people must be majority shareholders in Alcan, and trying to drive up demand for tinfoil.

Gibraltar, Iceland See MASSIVE Covid Spike Despite Over 90% of Population Vaccinated – Nwo Report
Hello; Not looked this over too closely yet but a quick read thru got my attention.

Beyond just considering the source (thank you jjohnwm jjohnwm ) please see below, again.

None of this should be a surprise to anyone that has kept up on the subject. Quite frankly I can't believe this is even being discussed at this point.

Influenza vaccines work in the same way, as in they are not 100% foolproof. -One can still get the FLU, but if/when that happens, they do not typically get seriously ill, or die. Same as covid vaccines, flu virus germs would also be shed by those that are sick. BTW - there is no exact % given currently, by any peer reviewed paper that I have seen, regarding how much virus is being shed, by vaccinated people. Lots of smack talk on the internet, but nothing backed by any science based peer reviewed journals.

Call it whatever you choose, not all vaccines are foolproof. In fact when it comes to individual immune responses, amongst the millions being given a vaccine - there are no guarantees. There never has been.

But now we should expect more, from a set of vaccines created under extreme conditions, during a world-wide pandemic?

Yeah, ok, sure.

Not to mention the fact that the current vaccines available, were not designed for ALL of the various variants that came after the fact. Thank goodness that thus far they have been working as well as they have.

Gibraltar, Iceland See MASSIVE Covid Spike Despite Over 90% of Population Vaccinated – Nwo Report
Hello; Not looked this over too closely yet but a quick read thru got my attention.

That source is such a crock of **** that I don't even really think I should reply to this, but I will.

Yes vaccinated people can get COVID still, there was never any statement that they cannot (I believe Pfizer and Moderna claimed to be ~96% effective at preventing infection. This is clearly lower with the Delta variant (I think its estimated around 70-80% effective now). However! Risk of severe illness is still lowered severely, the large large large majority of people who get infected while vaccinated do not get sick. The CDC has also recently found that vaccinated individuals can spread the delta variant (without feeling too sick), which makes it doubly more important for everyone to get vaccinated!

While its hard to find hard statistical reports about vaccination rates of hospitalized patients in my area, there are news reports with some numbers like this one:

Also something nice is one of the counties here in the Bay Area has released infection rates for unvaccinated and vaccinated folks:

Screen Shot 2021-08-08 at 9.43.01 AM.png

Something to note is that the article I posted states only 2 of the 200 cases in Marin County in that time were in vaccinated individuals. I don't have the article on hand, but my area has stated that 85% of people visiting the hospital are unvaccinated and 100% in the ICU are unvaccinated.

To briefly address Gibraltar, yes vaccination rates are very high, but as stated, vaccines are and never were a 100% foolproof method to preventing infection, what probably has happened, is as Europe opened up, tourists came in sick and the delta variant started to spread, even in the vaccinated population. HOWEVER if you look past that sensationalized headline, the data does not look nearly as crazy. The spiked up to a high of a daily new case count of 31, 17% of the previous high set in January (~170 a day). While I cannot find any data about hospitalizations (Wikipedia states 0 currently hospitalized, but I'm not trusting that) there has only been 1 death in Gibraltar from Covid SINCE MARCH.

This completely backs up what we know about the vaccines, they are good at preventing spread (but not 100%) and amazing at preventing severe infection! Please stop posting anti vax hog wash like this, its dangerous and does no good for this discussion.

Rant over.
