Breakthrough COVID infections in fully vaccinated people aren't so rare, CDC says (cnet.com)

Hello; Well this report is based on CDC information. But since the CDC data tracker chart was questioned a few days ago, perhaps this CDC information will not be good enough also.

Quote from link. “The CDC report shows data from clusters of an outbreak in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, where 74% of the 469 identified COVID cases were in fully vaccinated people. Ninety percent of the cases tested were caused by the delta variant. Vaccinated people who had COVID had about as much virus in their nose as unvaccinated people who were infected, according to the report.”

Here's a direct quote from the CDC report:

And here's a quote from the New World Order report:

"Stats prove vaccine actually spreading disease!...Stats coming out of several countries show vaccinated people are spreading Covid-19, as evidence mounts the vaccine is actually causing viral variants and infections as experts predicted."

'Nuff said?

Here's how I would describe my experience with catching the common cold while working at a remote camp:

"I almost always catch a cold each year while staying at a crowded work camp. This year I actually had a couple of them."

Here's the NWO version:

"Deadly viral infections in northern communities skyrocket by 100% since last year! Evidence that virus is being transmitted by polar bears has now come to light, along with speculation that the virus is of extraterrestrial origin."

Note the exclamation mark; it's one of their subtle "tells".

The sad thing is that I am fairly skeptical in general, and don't fully trust any source, CDC included. But when you have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to come up with stuff like the NWO...you're not adding credibility to your position, you're detracting from it.

Firstly, I originally was going to respond to your previous comment linking to the CDC graph where you stated cases were going down, but didn't because others had already made the point I was going to make. As others said, there is something wrong with that graph, on the page you linked, if you click on the Cases Total graph, you will see it is continuously going up right now. If cases are going up, it is literally impossible for the per/100,000 rate to go down.

Also, nothing in that article refutes what I said: Vaccines significantly reduce infection, but a lot less so for the delta varient (96% vs 70-80%). That means upwards of 25% of people who are vaccinated and exposed to COVID can contract the illness. BUT RATE OF SEVERE DISEASE IN VACCINATED INDIVIDUALS IS LIMITED, IT EVEN STATES SO IN THE ARTICLE: "This syncs up with previous research that shows the vaccines are effective at preventing severe disease and death from the coronavirus, even delta."

Now to address the fact that 74% of cases were in vaccinated individuals: In areas with high vaccination rates (80%+), it is completely reasonable to see higher totals of infections in vaccinated individuals BECAUSE WHEN THERE ARE OVERALL SIGNIFICANTLY MORE VACCINATED PEOPLE, EVEN A MUCH LOWER PER/100,000 INFECTION RATE CAN LEAD TO A HIGHER TOTAL AMOUNT OF INFECTIONS.

Here is a chart that perfectly illustrates this fact:

Again, stop with the antivax bologna

Hello; No thanks. Decide to find fault with the CDC information if you wish. Come up with ways to present the information that suits your point of view. I do not tell you to stop with either way to respond, yet you want me and others to stop posting information.

I do not create the CDC information. I do not alter the CDC information myself. If I find an article with information I provide a link to the actual article or site precisely so anyone reading can look for them selves. If I pull comments from an article I make sure to indicate clearly where the comments come from. If I make my own comments I make sure to indicate which comments are my own.

I am not "antivax". I have had the injections from moderna. Some new information appears to be showing up about the shots. I am looking into the new information. I figured information with the CDC stamp associated might pass muster, apparently not.

CDC information is generally good, I posted a CDC link to show that the data you linked had some sort of error. Its literal common sense that as cases go up, cases per/100,000 are going to go up as well. It doesn't even have to be a malicious error on the part of the CDC either, just some data from a state or two is probably missing.

I do think its funny that you have ignored literally everything else I have said. Facts don't lie, misinformation does

Spouting off antivax misinformation and having gotten the COVID vaccine is not mutually exclusive. Someone could get the shots, read a bunch of misinformation, and change their opinion on the shots.

Hello; Works both ways I suspect. Thing is for me way back near the start of the pandemic I made a couple of comments and some were wanting me to be silenced. I got the thing about the virus being airborne correct for what it is worth. I have not yet accused you of misinformation, but you somehow feel free to do so.

I like what another member posted a while back. went something like this. Some member on a fish forum wants another member on that same fish forum to stop posting because he is only a member of a fish forum. I probably stated it poorly, but perhaps close enough.

....I have never once told you to stop posting, I've said stop posting misinformation. Huge difference.

Feel free to try and accuse me of posting misinformation, thats objectively false. I've posted data, not opinion pieces.

Regardless, I'm not trying to change your mind. Looking over the rest of this thread would make it apparent to anyone that you aren't being swayed. I believe it to be a matter of public health to call out misinformation about vaccinations to show how it is objectively wrong. Its less for you specifically and more for anyone reading this thread. You can believe whatever you want, but I don't want you leading others to be misinformed about a major public health crisis and how we can work to get past it.

I'm not here to stoop down and argue with you. Myself and the others posting here will just continue to call out your misinformation when you post it, and I'm proud of everyone taking part in that effort. You're are currently free to post your thoughts, and we are all free to continue calling it out as misinformation and stating why its objectively wrong.
