How has the coronavirus affected your personal life?

Kinda, except with vaccines, the % of replications lessens. So for those that like math, do the math.

While this is probably true, the totals still converge, and so not nearly as alarming as the charts would suggest.

I don’t know what the totals are, but considering all the alarmism about Delta it appears to me that we just don’t have good vaccines, and people need to rely on the mask, safe Social practices, and sanitation.

I am not saying that people should not take the vaccine because apparently they offer a lot of protection.

But evidently they suck at Delta.

and I have not heard one person on TV screaming for more research and better vaccines and faster development. It doesn’t mean those people don’t exist, but I have not heard them.

Hello; Back a couple of weeks ago and many posts ago I became concerned about what was being reported about the "vaccines". At first I was asking questions and trying to figure out what the difference could be with these new mRNA created vaccines. I finally got some information on a different site from a fellow who had been posting information. I posted some links about this on this thread. I am still looking for good information about how the nature of these new vaccines differs from the older type traditional vaccines.
There does seem to be a benefit from the injections. That being when you become infected the odds are you are less likely to become very ill. That is good as far as it goes, but seems to me to be some different from the sort of immune response of the older type vaccines.
I considered the analogy to the flu shots and find that explanation lacking. The flu vaccines are known for being made well before the flu seasons and often the vaccine makers just guess wrong about which flu virus will be going around. The covid19 mRNA vaccine makers had the exact virus to work on so it was not the "crap shoot" a flu vaccine can be. There does seem to be holes in the covid injections.
Had the story been the virus has mutated beyond the vaccines, that would have made sense. RNA virus do mutate. However the story persists the vaccines are still some good for the delta. As far as I know the shots being given to folks now are the same as the ones I took a few months ago.

Imagine a flu season where an H1N10 existed, a mutation different from all former forms of the virus, and this took place, during the flu season.

This is precisely what has taken place with covid. Same basic virus, different strain that we only now are coming to understand, spreads a LOT easier than the initial strain.

Same hole as any other virus/vaccine.

The difference is overall down time, with vaccine, vs without. Same as a "good" flu vaccine. A good vaccine keeps people out of the hospital, and from having their last will & testament enacted.

I think that some folks need to spend less time reading about all of this, or watching the latest snippet on TV, and actually spend some quality time talking to those folks that work the front lines, in health care facilities. I guarantee you that you will come away with a different perspective on how "good" these vaccines are working, and the difference that they have made to those workers, and the people that they are dedicated in caring for.

I'd be surprised if the poor guys on the front line actually have time to talk! They've been under the cosh for far too long now, with no end in site.

But yes, their perspective on the whole situation would be far more valuable than a lot of the reporting that has been going on.

Every single day at work I can potentially be in a small room, with relatively poor ventilation, working on equipment with a person that has an active case of covid laying within a few feet away.

So yeah, a slightly different perspective than what some folks may have.

Today I go for another deep nasal swab (PCR) due to my being in close proximity to a resident that tested positive for Delta last week. Last PCR test came back negative, I would think todays will as well.

I cant even begin to imagine the horrors that some folks working in health care have had to experience over this past year or two, compared to myself and my co-workers. We've had it relatively easy compared to many other areas.

To me, it’s like a terrible flu hit us in the middle of the worst ever crisis of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, bad nutrition, mental distress, rampant dispair, drug and alcohol abuse, plus open hatred, elder abuse, & divorce all off the charts.

In the end opinions won’t matter. More and more places are requiring vaccination, so eventually most all people will get one.

Very true. It was enough to scare me into getting healthy. Type 2 reversed, better shape now than 30 yrs ago. A silver lining I suppose.

There is no “reporting”. There is fear mongering and slander. Lies and accusations. Idiocy gone mainstream.

BTW I don’t actually watch TV. It’s designed to make you think horrible things, and then go buy junk food or a new Ford to make you happy again.

I do get news from several sources. Every one has some bias showing.
