I believe in UV sterilizers,

So do I, when utilized properly. Our local water treatment facility utilizes UV as part of their water disinfection process, as do many other jurisdictions.

That's some serious filtration, glad it is working for you P PacuMom

Yep. I have smart phones, smart air filters and one smart alek car that pings and flashes a steaming cup of coffee with the words "please take a break" if we straighten out too many of the numerous curves on the road we drive on every day or cross the right hand line to give more room between us and oncoming traffic negotiating the turns or cross into another lane without turning on the turn signals when there is not another car in sight.

Sounds like my wife's car, lol

UV-C for HVAC Air and Surface Disinfection (amca.org)

Hello; This is a link with lots of information. More than I actually wanted to know. Biggest drawback is exposure time as air speeds by the lights. Not much to be done in old systems with fixed fans speeds. New systems have “smart” fans that can run at different speeds. Seems to me tho that fast air will run the air past the lights more often. Not perfect but with an air flow switch would be on any time there is air flow

Hello; Been thinking about the problem of duration in the light with a UV sanitizer. I came up with one idea. Place the light in the space with the largest volume. Th e air will slow down some when it moves into a larger volume. In my house there is a large cavity behind the air filter. Air movement will be slower than in the other ducts which are much smaller.

Another potential way to deal with duration under the sanitizing light might be to install a duct fan into a small duct. I have seen them for six inch ducts. I have considered putting one in the six inch duct that exits just behind my wood stove. That small fan would pull air much slower than the main blower. That small fan could be run manually with a simple on/off switch. On a timer to run some number of hours a day. Even on all the time. Which ever way the air would both be slow and the constant exchange of the air would give many passes by the light(s) every 24 hours. I have no idea of the overall cost for such a setup.

U.S. could soon hit more than 200,000 new coronavirus cases per day, NIH director warns | CTV News

"The rate of new hospitalizations among people in their 30s increased by nearly 300% over the past month, according to an analysis of data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. New COVID-19 hospital admissions among people in their 30s are now the highest since the pandemic began, according to the data."

There is currently a couple of early 30's (non vaccinated) patients here in hospital ICU last week. Both have been intubated. Hopefully this trend doesn't continue.

No mask mandate in my area, just recommendation. This week we should see the results from the large no mask crowds at our county fair last week

CDC COVID Data Tracker

Hello; Went to the above link. Looked at age 30 to 39 cases. Went back to the lowest rate on the graph. On June 21,2021 the rate was 0.42 per 100,000. That would be 0.84 per 200, 000 and 1.26 per 300,000 of population. On the last day of the chart August 13, 2021 the rate was 2.52 per 100,000. This would be 5.02 per 200,000 and 7.53 per 300,000 of population. A different way to look at the numbers.

Hello; In my area we have such an event the first of every month ay the local stores. From the 1st to the 3rd the checks come in. I needed something bad enough to go to the local Wal-Mart back on the first of August. Big crowds. Happens every month.

I believe what the numbers demonstrate, is that in 30-60 days many hospitals are going to be back in operation critical overload. Seems that some are already there.

Hello; On another site the discussion is currently about refusing treatment to the unvaccinated because they refused the vaccines. Something like they did not do as told so deserver to be sick with the virus. Brings some things to the surface. If this take hold it could be applied to smokers, drinkers, obese and a few more. I sort of get the idea but do not see much class about it.
Back a while Mickey Mantle got a new liver. He was a notorious drinker. The thinking by some was better to give the liver to someone who needed it for reasons other than lifelong drinking. Someone who just had some sort of bad luck thru no fault of their own.
I cannot endorse the practice, but i do not smoke. Hardly drink at all. I am heavier than I ought to be but not obese. So the irony would be under that regimen I would be in line ahead because I took the shots. Ironic.
