Hello; Been thinking about the problem of duration in the light with a UV sanitizer. I came up with one idea. Place the light in the space with the largest volume. Th e air will slow down some when it moves into a larger volume. In my house there is a large cavity behind the air filter. Air movement will be slower than in the other ducts which are much smaller.

Another potential way to deal with duration under the sanitizing light might be to install a duct fan into a small duct. I have seen them for six inch ducts. I have considered putting one in the six inch duct that exits just behind my wood stove. That small fan would pull air much slower than the main blower. That small fan could be run manually with a simple on/off switch. On a timer to run some number of hours a day. Even on all the time. Which ever way the air would both be slow and the constant exchange of the air would give many passes by the light(s) every 24 hours. I have no idea of the overall cost for such a setup.

Light intensity falls off with the square of the distance so, unfortunately, strong UV light is only strong for a short distance (unless you have a lamp as powerful as the sun.)

Hello; I guess this may be what I call the inverse square rule. The space I am thinking of is about the size of a dorm fridge. I did read how in some hospital rooms an upper area rig was used. Had barriers to protect the eyes. I guess the idea is to help.

We're going into level 4 lockdown(The strictest) for 3 days, Auckland and Coromandel for a week because of a community covid case. Man travelled from Auckland to Coromandel while contagious. Most likely Delta variant. No link back to border quarantine found yet.

Our local hospice is currently experiencing a covid-19 outbreak. A couple of hospitals in our Province the same. It also appears that another one of our companies care facilities has a staff that has tested positive, and another that is waiting on results.

Mirrored surfaces in the chamber will help a lot. White paint would be ok but much less effective. Dark paint is much, much worse, just turning light to heat by absorption.

Masks are still not required here, but big stores are all handing them out at the door.

We need them more outdoors today, as a big wind has blown the smoke down from Tahoe. They’ve lost 1400 structures to this fire.

Our small county (<28,000) is now in an upswing with COVID kicking in most likely due to the maskless fair crowds last week. 166 new cases since Friday. 378 active cases. Hospitalized cases down to 21 from 24 last Thursday. Good that it frees up some hospital beds for people with other problems. Too bad three people died... Hey, their body, their life, their choice to vaccinate and to mask. Who are we to say that mandates should be issued that violate their rights. They have a right to get sick and die.

Cases are popping up at my university again, and one in my class of <70 people. Thankfully we are entirely online for the time being
