I wrote that tongue in cheek

No, I get that. I just try not to automatically dismiss a viewpoint that opposes mine without trying to consider it. With so many extreme far-out nutcases shrieking about vaccines or testing or masks it's easy to.overcompensate.

jjohnwm jjohnwm - I like the taxidermist reference. lol But no, that was not the case. While the deep nasal swabs are not what I would consider fun, I have not heard any mention of any of the swabbers being aggressive. It seemed like their decision was based on a moral principle stance, or some such notion.

I have had 3 tests that caused day-long bleeding, all caused by the same tester who I now avoid.

I'm getting to the point where I think that half the anti-vaccine crowd is just afraid of needles. You really need to see a 250-pound ironworker so nervous about his impending nasal swab test that he is shaking like a leaf and tearing up. Not even an injection...just the test.

Docs & nurses, not so easy to replace here right now, but personal aides, or health care aides, much easier. The bulk of staff that provide care to residents in long term care facilities are not doctors, or nurses.

True here as well, but they are all certified in some manner by the state. That certificate is a barrier to 90% of the people looking for a job, who have limited qualifications.

Now they are also all required to have special training in racial sensitivity and diversity, although some of this may have been waived during the pandemic.

edit: This might also very by county with in the state as some have special rules.

Had a bit of a fever and bad head aches. Felt so tired, that was probably the worst bit, zero energy. I got over it OK just left me with a bit of a cough. My wife however has had tinnitus since having covid. The doctor has told her it's a side effect from covid.
SOrry to hear. My aunt got Covid a while back, and has the same side effect.

And with back to school and loosey goosey rules and/or no rules across the land, unfortunately numbers in NA are going to go right back up. Big time.

In Canada, we are already well on our way there.

Labor day is around the corner for the US, so chances are high that the positivity rate will go up again for 2-3 weeks afterwards. Locally, the county goal is 75% fully vaccinated (3+ Million population), and we're currently at 74.4%.

Just received an email from work. The charter flights up to the jobsite are now available only to fully vaccinated people. All others must find their own way up there. Failure to show up is interpreted as quitting.

Bear in mind that for the vast majority of employees this entails a drive of over 1000km...each way. The last third of this is on gravel.

This is gonna be interesting.
