I figured we should have a thread to discuss how this disease has affected us personally in our day to day lives.

I'll post my own stuff when it is not 3 am.

Good idea for a thread, I'd be interested to hear how day to day life is going in other countries.

Here in Melbourne, Australia we have a partial shutdown. Gyms, churches, cinemas, pubs and nightclubs and casinos are now closed. Restaurants and cafes can only serve takeaway. Football started last week with no crowds allowed but the season was postponed on Sunday, it's againSt the law for certain amount of people to gather, it was 500 but is now less. schools, shopping centres and similar places are still open.
We are being encouraged to social distance, meaning keep 1.5mtrs apart.

Personally, work is weird as I am a sales rep and no one will see me at the moment. Currently we are working from home and the bosses are hammering us for constant email and phone contact with customers to keep the $ rolling in. That's the biggest change for me but there's a very strange vibe around, like doom is just around the corner. Lots of people have lost their jobs in the hospitality industry as everything has closed so am still lucky. Wife is still working in her office but they are all pushing to work from home too. Government is encouraging as much social isolation and working from home as possible but most bosses are still making staff come to work.

The panic buying has slowed down and supermarkets are starting to have stock again.
It feels like we have more disruption to come as more cases are confirmed, we are heading into winter so I can only imagine it will get worse before it gets better. I also think a full lockdown is coming soon, it could be a good idea as so far we are doing well with infection rates compared to a lot of places and it might slow it down further.

I listened to The Doors song "strange days" as I drove through the city Monday a.m and it seems like the perfect soundtrack to what was going on.

Well as of 12am last night we are on lock down. It was like Ogertron3000 Ogertron3000 said but the governor decided at 11am the best thing to do was lock it down. Schools have been down the last couple of weeks. I have three jobs 1 of the three is closed based off of the decision. But both of my other jobs are considered critical infrastructure workforce, dealership and a autoparts store. So in all honesty not alot is going to change for me. If we are slow at work random projects will get accomplished. If we are super slow one of the techs said he will show me how to weld!
I worry about the government not taking this seriously as there are so many things you can still do. I can still go to most stores if they sell food they are allowed to be open. You can't go to a restaurant but if they have a drive thru or deliver they can still be open. The dealerships are ok to be open if they sell autoparts or work on cars, not to many that I know of that don't do one or both of those. Lots of ways for this thing to spread still. Trust me I don't want to be locked inside with no way to get my bills payed or get food but it seems this effort is really kind of lacking I guess is a good way to say it. I'm not afraid of getting the virus (I'm also not saying I want it) I think I may have already had it tbh back in early December or whenever it was. I was sick for three weeks all the symptoms. Went to the doctor he said it wasn't the flu I was tested it wasn't exactly pneumonia either. Gave me a zpac and sent me home. I finished the antibiotics and still had the hacking cough with nothing being produced and fever. That was Saturday, if I wasn't better Monday I was going back to the dr. Sunday I finally stayed home and wrapped up in a sleeping bag and multiple layers and sweated it out. Drank quite a few hot toties too. Monday morning the cough turned productive while I was in the shower and I started to feel better. Both the dealership and the autoparts stores the majority of people had or got the same thing and those that went to the drs were all treated and told the same thing, except 1 tech he actually had a flu don't remember which one.

Our city is pretty much on lockdown and I feel bad for all of the fine folks who are not able to work.On top of that, law enforcement has decided to hold off on making arrest for all but the most serious of crimes.
I heard that the supermarkets are only allowing ten customers inside at a time.

Not on lock down just yet but I’m acting like it. After work I go straight home and make runs to the store when needed. Wear a mask when I’m out.
Just don't touch the mask until you wash your hands. Everyone using a mask I see has touched the door handle, the counter, the parts I touched, has handed me keys and taken them back from me, and then adjusted the mask with those same hands.....how is that helping anything? They said if you don't have the virus it's better to not wear a mask exactly because of those things.

I get replacement masks. I’m a doctor and seeing sick patients all the time. Seen numerous patients with flu like symptoms. I maybe getting exposed to the virus and getting eventually sick.

It's affected me greatly on a financial scale.
I was kicking off a new business and things have stalled to a standstill. Even though my business is considered essential, getting new customers is a challenge. Luckily my wife has an established job that is considered essential and has locked up job security as a RN.
Our city just went into lock down last night. Made it an even greater challenge for me.

I'm in long island, NY.. people here arent taking the virus as serious as they could. I've been out twice since this started and people are EVERYWHERE. Monday all non essential businesses were supposed to close but a ton of things were deemed essential. I'm in construction and my industry is still working. I was blessed with bad lungs so I'm not looking to get this virus at all. There are rumors that schools might be closed for the rest of the year here. People distrust the media so they are reluctant to believe this situation is as bad as they are making it out to be.
