Hello; A question for the sake of clarity. Some background first. Some months ago in a different thread which started out about Ebola virus and morphed into a discussion about Covid19, I made some observations about the proclamations , at that time, coming from some prominent medical authorities. In the fullness of time some of my observations have proven to be correct and while I cannot promise to be correct every time I happen to disagree with those in authority, I do wish to be able to discuss these mainly medical topics.
That thread was closed after another member took exception to my comments and we were both warned off. I strove then and continue striving to keep my posts civil and within the forum rules. I feel I have been successful. It seems to me most anything connected to Covid19 can be stretched in the mind of a reader to have a political angle, even if the writer of a comment is trying to stay away from such.
If for example I happen to be living in a part of the world and am subject to some rule or lockdown order that I happen to find fault about, will I be able to post about what I find faulty with the logic or science behind such a rule? For example I see in some places reported that the order is people are supposed to wear a mask when inside in their own homes. I live alone in a single family house so do not see the logic nor the science in this. Maybe if i lived in a multi family building with common ventilation or had lots of people coming and going.
Ive enjoyed this thread, its been good to hear about everyones experiences from all over the world. It is hard to avoid politics as the whole thing has been politicised beyond belief but if the U.S election passed without a single mention we should be able to keep this thread under control.
As for me, my state has just passed 20 days of no new infections or deaths. They are finding traces of the virus in the sewers when they test so its obviously not eradicated completely but its certainly improved from a few months ago.
The bad news is our neighbouring state has had another outbreak after being clear for months. They have gone into a 6 day total lockdown where they arent even allowed to leave their houses which is very strict. Its been known about for a few days but they are only shutting the border tonight so we are all hoping no one contagious has come across from there.
The last few weeks of relative freedom have been good, especially with the warm weather, the last thing we need is another lockdown.
That's the essence of the political content the TOS explicitly bans. You'll state point A, someone else will state point B, and 32 pages later someone's a nazi, someone else is a snowflake and we take a step in the wrong direction.
So please, no politicized content.
Had there not been a report, I'd have been content to ignore this thread, but here we are. Y'all have been doing great at staying within the letter of the law, and have been civil when you flirt with stepping out of it.
This is intended to serve as a reminder, nothing more.
Thank you all for your general civility in this hard time.
I honestly don't understand the point of your post . . .
