How is this feeding routine for my Painted and Red Ear Sliders?

How strange! My convicts with the small turtles don't hide. In another tank the convicts say around the driftwood. It's their territory I think. Those turtles are 7 inches.

all turtles are different in my mind

Do you think keeping the turtles well feed will discourage them from chasing fish? Did you see my first post on my feeding routine? What do you think about it? Would you feed your turtles cut up banana peels?

My turtles and every turtle I have ever met, are always hungry. They will eat until the vomit, then eat the vomit. I feed my turtles about every two days or so. Either pellets, shrimp, superworms, omega one seaweed (a veggie that they like) and sometimes strawberries. Mine will not take lettuce of any kind nor most veggies I have tried. So if you can get them to eat lettuce, go for it :)

Bananas themselves are not something I would feed regularly, so I would put the peel in the same boat, plus you never know what is on the peel. Just my two cents.

Okay. I will only feed them the peels on occasion maybe once ever 2 weeks or so. I have tried feeding them the tops to the strawberries but they don't like them. I have to not feed them for a day of to fed them the tops and then not feed them for a few more days just to get them to eat them all.

Do you have a heater for your tank? What is the temp of your tanks? Mine are 76 but I'm not sure the heaters are needed. My house is set for 70-72 during the day and 65 at night. Is that warm enough for these turtles or would you leave them with the heaters?

My heater is set for 77 degrees on my tank

My tanks are at 84

all my tanks are warm since I live in an apartment building and most of my tanks reach 88-90 in the summer, so I try to make it less of a huge change. It gets very warm here.

I would keep the heaters myself.

That is hot! We get that hot outdoors but in my aquatic room is in the basement. I will keep the heater just to try to keep the temps more stable.

I have always had a heater in my turtles tanks. Recently I got smart and installed an inline heater on the return side of the canister filter. Getting it out of the tank is the best thing. No more broken heaters. Turtles can be rough.
