How long until my tank will complete its cycle

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am not sure if your tank is finished cycling or not, but if you are still waiting and want it done ASAP go buy a bottle of bio spira and dump it in to instant cycle tank. Works awesome. I did my 75g that way and my 29g that way. No fatalities either tank.

It won't instantly cycle the tank but it's certainly a good idea. Seachem stability is what I recommend.

No Eels No Tangs - go for a more tolerant fish like clowns, basselets, or damsels. You need to understand that your tank is only initially cycled this process builds not ends - it can take a year or two before your SW tank reaches maturity. Remember your building an eco-system this does not occur in several weeks or months to be truly successful have patients take - things slow - do it right the 1st time least you see your money flying out the door. LR + bacteria in a bottle do not change this fact.

Sorry for the late reply I'm using brightwell aquatics microbacteria currently, my tank still isn't done cycling, really close though :D

When I was cycling mine I would get readings that were all basically zero like yours were. What I was told is that it means the cycle has started but there wasn't enough ammonia to continue it so I would add it 5ml at a time until it would be completely processed in 12 hours and I would see nitrate rise from it. For a cuc I ordered mine from reefcleaners.com and am really happy with them, although I ordered the quick crew recommended for my tank(28G) and had to give away most of it to a friend for his 55G and I still have too much. John is a great guy to deal with but is definitely over generous with what he sends out.
