BTW 2 75s is nowhere near enough room for the fish you want. what you should do is get just a gar until you upgrade and then think about other fish.

im gonna send the other fishes to our farm. ill keep the aro and gar or should i send the aro too?

if its the gator your trying to keep the aro with i wouldnt chance it. one may attack the other. but on the other hand it may work. it all depends on the individual fish.

wait wait, i said you could keep aros with other gars, NOT gator gars. and yes, they get big fast. i had a 13" gator in the pond and hardly fed it, it still got to 24" in 7 months. it took him 10months to get frm 6" to 24"...

they break their backs easily, so just don't bother. try florida or spotted ones instead.

All gar can break their backs easily...just because there was another thread of a gator ith a broken back doesnt mean it just happens to them.

Yep. And the 75 is a bit too small for the gator OR the aro, right now.

Wow this thread kinda went off the rails, I think I saw a pot and a kettle...unsure.

this is true. every time you buy a gar you are risking a broken back gar. because you never know if will happen or not. but as people have said before a bigger tank is not always better for a gar. to prevent broken back. but me saying that doesnt mean you can keep that gator in the 75g cuz it will outgrow the tank in a couple of months.
