how many complete comic book saga series do you own?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Graphic Novels are more popular now, like Inuyasha, FruitsBasket, Hitalia Axis Powers, ect. No one I personally know reads/collects regular comic books. Although there is a store nearby that sells/trades the real old comic stuff.

did anyone else join in on the cursor disco? i sure did.

yeah we've got a real legit comic book store here....i think it only makes enough to stay in business because they own a used book store too.

i've got 3 legit cards shop here still too.

Comic books are dead where I live. All there is now is graphic novels/manga. That, or grown up books.

What killed comic books was speculation. People thought you could make a quick buck by collecting them, so the comic book companies began make millions of copies of the newer comics to meet the demand. When people went to sell their comics to get rich, they found out they were not worth anything. So, people stopped buying. That almost killed the comic books market. Of course online comics have not helped. Greed almost killed them. They are actually becoming more popular again (sales wise).

I'll geek out with yeah OP. I got rid of all my old comic books, so I don't collect them anymore, but I read them on .CDR files all the time. Just finished the maximum carnage saga last night. Always a fun read. Can't say I dig the "good vibes ray" secret weapon though, lol.

I will say the graphic novels are definitely where it's at now a days too. My friend and I stopped at the local comic store like a month ago for the hell of it and they have all sorts of rad looking graphic novels out with awesome artwork. I think I'll be buyin' some in the near future. Not from the comic store though. They're like 70% price down on ebay and amazon.

Ive still got about 500 or so from when I was a kid and collecting comics but I havent actually bought a comic book since maybe 1990???? anyway some of the ones that were series that I collected you might not have ever heard of but thats when they used to make like 4 issue limited series Ive got a few older graphic novels too:naughty:

What are the names Mike B?My earliest comic I own is from 1965 X-men issue 13.I do have a couple of graphic novels, death of Captain America and Weapon X,also Marvel Zombies 2,which that one was a gift to me.I actually stopped collecting modern comics from 2002 up to 2008,but still went to the dollar stores for 1980s to 1990s marvel comics, the owner use to have 5 comics for a dollar. It was super cheap and that is how I built up on my X-men comics mostly, the only reason I am reading the newer comics today is for deadpool really.

You're absolutely correct on that part.My mothers best friend's daughter owns every single comic you can name from the Marvel,DC,Image, ect. She bought them for value of what they are supposedly worth in the comic book value guide. We already know there are scumbags on ebay, who try to sell you a spiderman number 1 for more than what its worth, while its torn,no color, ect.I have been very lucky though of buying back issues,40 comics for 20 dollars or less in mint condition.
