in a 20 gallon for 6 months???:WHOA: :WHOA: :WHOA:

I wouldn't bother with fish that get that large. Try shellies, they stay small.
That is perfectly fine to keep them in a 20. Its only temp. Plus he doesnt want shellies.

thanks man for backing me up LOL:D :headbang2

aww you two crack me up... at each other throats now backing each other up... if it is a temp, do not put a time limit, but a size limit when they get to big or mean move them... some may be there for months, as myfronts have others like my peacocks were out in a few weeks/days... ps that what makes the rift lake area so great... we help each other and do not tear each other down...

Haha. Good times.

:D LoL yup thats right,

depends on the specific. I wouldn't even put 1 mbuna livinstoni (sp?) in a 20L

A 20 long can house any single mbuna. It's just not fun. Pseudo. livingstonii only get to about 5" anyway so maybe you're thinking about Nimbochromis livingstonii.
The tank will grow out those youngsters just fine.

Thanks strait,See thats the problem i guess i made when i made this thread, asking how many mbunas i can fit in a 20g L,I think i should have said how many Mbunas Can i Grow out in a 20g L......sorry for any confusion to those that may have not paid attention to the conversation that were taking place in this thread:) :headbang2

yeah, when ppl see a post along the lines of someone with a 20 or 30 gallon and wanting to stock it with malawi's they absolutely lose their everlovin minds--had you posted that on some other forums, i guarantee you would have gotten your head ripped off and stuffed down your throat.

Malawi's just arent suited for such small tanks long term.. but i wouldnt see a problem of using it as a grow out tank holding some rusties and yellow labs for just a few months until you can afford something bigger..

(ducks for cover.....)
