How many Oscars in 1500gal

Oscars have individual personalities. The more you buy, the more of a chance of getting a psycho killer. If they are all getting along now, I would look into something that can coexist with large peaceful cichlids instead of more oscars.

Yeah, that's a good point, although having more oscars would also spread out the aggression, so it may not become a problem.

Also true.

well im currently thinking maybe 8. might buy 2 more and than just rescue wat comes up.... even though in iowa nothing much ever comes up. I was wanting to maybe keep a few dozen convicts. Would that be a problem. If you havnt noticed yet I really dont know that much about cichlids. My catfish arnt interested in live foods at all so they would be fine. there way to lazy to try and catch anything. lol

i think with cichlids like oscars that are usually pushovers you have have those cons take over but then that pond is pretty huge and those oscars would make quick work of any fry...

i dont think 12-13 inch oscars would bother with fry when there is food coming from the sky if they hadnt been interested in live before, i think the convicts aren't a bad idea, but get something that will be determined to get most of the fry, something along the lines of pictus or syno cats

whats your current stock?
