I will look into them thanks. How large do they grow? Also convicts size? Luckily my cats ignore other fish. Even the rtc has never shown intrest in the smaller fish. I never feed live to any fish while growing them out. I'll add a bunch of small caves and plants around the sides for them if I get them.

If you're asking about the serpae's, then the same size as most other tetras, about 1-2 inches. For the Con's, they get to about 4-6". I'd be willing to bet that the cats will eat both (not necessarily all of them, but definitely some of them). And if the cats aren't interested in the tetras, the O's probably will be.

Umm, half of his stock will make snacks of the tetras. You say your fish ignore live food, watch them at night and I bet you will find a different story. Especially the gar.

Tetras are a good idea if you want to see some quick action...

I wouldn't do the tetras. Get 5 male cons and 5 females. They will breed like crazy and your fish will always have food available. I wouldn't do more than 6 oscars or it might get crowded. And watch out for your catfish and gar getting big enough to eat the o's. If you do get more oscars you'll have a good chance of a breeding pair and then watch out for them killing everything. ( or trying)

I have decided on 6 o's I want to buy one more the rest will be rescues. I also bought a pair of convicts today theyre in my 100gal rnow hopefully they will breed.
